fill it before the rd light comes on or keep a can of fuel in the bck not problem.EVER!:D

I feel 40 miles is the limit for my TD5 disco - (my light is orange?)
After that the needle drops below the lowest graduation and I expect it to stall

When I ran out of fuel last year, I discovered my battery wasn't up to the job of re-priming the system - what a pallaver!

So, if you plan to run out, I'd check your battery too :)

id never let anything get that low on fuel sucks all the **** and **** up out the bottom of the tank i fill mine up at quarter :p

Thats a red herring-if there is **** in the tank,it is always there, ready to go up the pipe,it doesn't just show up as the fuel level goes down-unless you have floaters-never ****ed in my tank

I got 29 miles on the light (1997 v8), was on the motorway - got to a service station at about 20 miles but couldn't bring myself to pay their price so winged it, and got away with it. It's great, adds a sense of adventure to a boring motorway journey! Must carry a spare can in the boot!

By the way, get a v8 and you'll be filling up much more than once a month and soon get a feel for how far you can get:p

NEVER run a TD5 out of fuel, you run very close to the wire of knackering an old fuel pump as it has to shift all the air & crap youve just put through it.

Simple answer-dont run it so low you cheapskate!
