Stupid question - indicator switch

Sounds like the switch isn't quite in the right place or the little plastic levers that operate the self cancel are worn. Pop the cowling off and have a look - the mechanism is fairly simple when you see it, a lump welded onto the column acts as a cam on two levers which reset the indicator switches. A new switch isn't expensive and they're fairly easy to fit.
Or it might need a spot of grease, especially if someone has swamped it in switchcleaner in the past.

The self cancel on my military SIII 109 works...sometimes. More often than not, not at all, especially signalling right. Is there likely to be any way of fixing this or will it require a new switch?

It's probably the teeth on the steering boss or the teeth on the switch
mine works properly on the left hand
on the right it stops signalling but does not come back to proper place,
Just a bit loose

I also have an oem spare indicator stalk (5 quid paid :) ), when i refurbish my electrics i will have it installed

remove steering wheel and ensure that the switch arms arent broken and noggin on wheel is in the center between the 2 arms when wheels straight
