hi all

I’ve searched but can’t find a good or recent answer

Basically I’m wondering wot stub axles and cv joints people are using nowadays, and any experiences welcome. I’d like to avoid stealer prices if poss but don’t want bendy stubs and explosive cv’s if ya get me

Vehicle is a late d1

Thanks in advance

Towsey

Thank you but wow up there mister, haha

I’m afraid Ashcroft cv’s are out of the question at the moment...shame tho

People say that britpart are wholesalers not manufacturers so could bearmachs, or any other companies for that matter, parts be the same ones as britpart???

Towsey

Thanks for that

That’s wot I was thinking, there’s so many things that are the same when all said and done but I’ve never heard people say it about those two names

So Payydg, is your vehicle standard or has it got bigger tyres and get some grief type thing, just curious cos it’s my daily driver and earns its keep

Cheers

Maybe should of said mines on 285 bfg km2’s and doesn’t look like the picture <<<<<

Grateful for anyone’s experience or ideas

Thanks

Britpart CVs and drive flanges. A small fraction of the OEM cost. So far so good, been on for 5 odd years.
Moderatly tweaked engine, 255/85/16 tyres.
Have to admit I was really sceptical but they have been fine.
Good luck

Just one thing mikegsxr, when you say drive flanges do you mean drive flanges or stub axle, it’s the stubs and cv’s I’m curious about although still glad to hear about other after market parts aswell

Thanks

Towsey

CVs have the stub drive shaft on them. Stub axles are original. Drive flanges are britpart.
OEM stub axles were £350ish if I recall corectly. So I cleaned the fecked thread on the end of the stub
axle on the lathe.

Ok thank you for that. My stub on one side is fooked, I went to change the bearing for first time on that corner since I’ve had it and it’s been butchered time and time again by looks of it with deep grinder marks and slack fitting bearings and chisel marks all over haha not great!

By the way going by your profile name il say good choice of bike!

HAS ANYONE TRIED BEARMACH CV’S?

cheers
