strange message problem

hello all,back again with another problem and loooking for advice from all your superior knowledge and brains

when i get out of car close door press keyfob,nothing happens.i have to lock the car manually and this sets the alarm off.open locks with keyfob and repeat then on the 2nd go every time then the doors will lock and all o.k. this has been going on for a couple of weeks and have now noticed that the message display board is telling me that ignition key is still in,even though i am out of car with keys in hand:doh::doh::doh: i know it is not the biggest problem in the world,but it is a bloody anoying one

has anyone any ideas please?:violin::tea:

I have the same problem now and again. There is a switch at the end of the barrel that the key presses to tell the ECU that the key is in, preventing the auto locking from operating. So you cannot lock yourself out with key in ignition. This will be sticking. Try a little WD 40 on the key and work it in and out of the barrel a few times to lubricate the internals. Also you can try pulling the key out quickly this always works when mine is playing up.
