Hi
I'm looking into some sort of storage solution for the boot of the range rover!
Basically I have a twin burner cast iron grill and LPG bottle. That I want to use when at horse shows with the wife.
I also want to use a vehicle fridge but still leave space for 2 medium sized spaniels.
Any ideas?
Wil some one make me one?( cash waiting) I'm not a good joiner.
I would like it to look professional so metal mechano struts are not an option.

Any one?:p

Get a trailer ! Lol
Do you pull a horse trailer when going to your horse shows ?

Mental...commercial disco would better suit if you need the off road ability but otherwise a van would have been better! RR figures for load space will suprise most!

Alternatively cant you buy an lpg converted and tap into the tank that way...two for the price of one? Not sure how safe that is though!

Pull an ifor Williams 506 so trailer with the horses in it. So another trailer is out of the question.
I have scene a picture of a set up on Internet, built into a p38'
Basically that is what I'm looking for.
But I want the burner on the slider and the fridge mounting side on behind the burner.
Its the top left picture on this link .
P38 with blue fridge.

Looks good and easy enough to do?

MDF from your local DIY store, measure up and get someone to cut the panels for you if you dont want to.

Covering is probably the same stuff as they build subwoofer boxes so im sure that's easily found onthe online auction site

Slider can be done similarly on drawer runners from DIY store.

Problem is you need to build it as only you knows exactly what you want from it. Will probably need to be removable if you sell the vehicle on. They also make a valid point on the site about the spare tyre to! You'd probably have to move it to the roof...so you'd need a rack.

Cant see room for the dogs though...:D

Yeah thanks.
I'm thinking of only using the box part. And putting the slider shelf into the box.
Mounting the burner on the slider with the fridge behind the burner, but side ways on.
So when you pull out the slider . You can access the fridge door!
This way I'm only using half the boot space.

Gonna give it a go.
Got loads of mdf at work.
Wish me look.
Lol

Photos of Progress Please...!!!

Can't have a BBQ in a horse box?
Horses don't like sausages.lol
Can't fold seats down, space becomes a premium when at horse shows.
We need rear seats to use for clothes, hats, passengers and all the other **** that goes with horse competitions.
Can't store that stuff in horse trailer as its not secure, saddle alone is worth £1500.

What I need is a defender 130 lol

Anyhow
I'm gonna give it a go,
Will take pictures and show you the final result.

Get a horse lorry

We started towing our horse using my l322.

Was only doing 16 to the gallon

So bought a Mercedes 7.5 tonne horse lorry for £2k and that does 20 to the gallon with 3 horses on board
Powered by a 6 litre lump ;)
Better on fuel than my range ! Lol

Tax is £160 And insurance is sod all.

As long as you have a place to park it then your good to go.

Probably cheaper than a new GM gearbox ?? Lol

Range rover tows lovely.
Horse boxes need lots of maintenance, there ok if your using them every week but we don't.
So seized brakes, flat battery's, rust, tyres, Mot,tax, tex, insurance,
( money pits)
Bin there, done that.

Lol
