Hi peeps, I'm new to this forum so be gentle lol. I own a p38 range rover and the keys were stolen in a burglary but car wasn't stolen just unlocked ( think they were disturbed ), so now have my rangey in storage with no keys. What will I need to do/get done to change locks and barrel, is it straight forward or will it need re-coded?
Thanks Steve.

You have two options:
1.
Go to a main dealer with your Registration Document and ask them for how many keys you want...Key 1, Key 2 Key 3. They will cost in excess of £150 each and you can buy as many as you wish. These keys will work in your existing locks and will only need synchronising (5 minute, easy DIY job). The keys will take around 7 -10 days to arrive. Downside is the toe rags may still have one of your originals and can open your car without the alarm going off.

Option 2
Buy a new Becm and full set of lock barrels, together with how many keys you want at £150 ish a pop. The Becm including programming will work out at around £1000. I don't know the price of the barrels.

Option3.
Buy a second hand set of locks and keyfob(s) ONLY if you have the VIN of the donor vehicle. Get your Becm unlocked and programmed with the data from the donor vehicle.
This is your cheapest option and the most secure.

Chances are that the keys have been tossed in a ditch or bushes not too far from your house, have a look around and ask neighbours if they have found anything.

I may have a lockset and key lying about (Have to check), with the coding and can reset your Becm to suit if you wish. Send me a PM if you wish.

good lad nice to see a newby take notice. irish will sort it for you, he is a drunk and eats all my biccys but is good at this stuff..lol

Well i did say it would not be cheap. Luckily Irish rover travels around the country at his own expense and works miracles with the electronics without charging you. Or so J tells me.:D:D:D.
