Ok bit of an odd one.

About a week ago i pulled up into the Pub Carpark, and me mate said
"when did you loose a Mud Flap" I laughed and said what you on about
looking down my Rear Passenger Mud Flap is missing looks abit **** with one mud flap.

Ok i thought never mind ill take the drivers one off and it'll look ok.
And eventually get round to getting somemore.

Now when i went to take the other one of the bolts were just spinning as was the rivnut used to hold them on, so i gave them a good yank and the bolts came out with the rivnuts attached.

Ok so maybe it fell off cos the rivnuts pulled out when i was greenlaning.
Fine.

However ive just got home and my Passenger Side Front Flap is now missing. havnt been greenlaning since my rear mud flap went or anywhere likly to have ripped it off.

Are they being nicked?
OR do defender mudflaps have a habit of falling off due to the rivnuts being pulled out?

Sam

both defender and series ones tend to come off quite easy, i took one of my rear ones off while deliberately jack knifing a trailer to got it in a space..... the other one came off when going through a deep puddle at spoed

cheers G-man.

I couldnt really see why someone would lay in the cold+wet to nick a a £5 part that in fairness has seen better days!!

Sam

Mine both fell off just pootling backwards and forwards to work before Christmas. Got some nice new brackets and mudflaps on again now - dunno how long they'll last though!

its urathane sheet, about 5mm thick you make a metal frame to hold it to the body, look at rally cars the red and blue ones they use......except in black

Ah i see.

Ah well i might put some more on, or might not bother.

The only reason I replaced them was to try and minimise the amount of ****e being thrown up the side (and underneath) my Landy. Dunno if it really makes a difference this time of year though...

if you do decide to go for it i think plastics for performance (they supply polycarbonate and lexan screens for rallycars) have them for about £20+ vat for a pair of 400x450mm sheets (i think you get discount if you order all four corners at the same time)

Cheers G-Man i will look into it!

Far as i could google, mud flaps arnt MOTable and therefore arnt a legal requirement,
so im guna run without them.

Think it looks better and will mean i dnt rip em off all the time!
