Hi

My Defender was stolen Wed/Thursday night from my drive. I have been looking on Ebay, landrover sites etc and have noticed that there are none in the same colour. It was beige, well a sort of mushroom colour with a white roof. Is this a really uncommon colour, I have only ever seen one other which I would have thought made it a bit more undesirable to most (but not all) the scumbag thieves.
I don't have any digital photos of it, just some small paper copies which I will try and enlarge and scan over the weekend.
If anyone has seen a beige hardtop/van one around my reg was G407 TUD and it has lots of distinguishing marks to me.
Police think it was stolen to do a job over the next few days but I am not so sure, it must have been well planned as they came prepared to get it, which is a bit creepy.
Does anyone ever get thm back??.....or what happens to them

I've picked up quite a few stolen landys in recent weeks. The beige colour isn't that common in relation to your blues and greens but I have seen a fair few that colour. My previous landy was Tango orange and the feckers still tried to nick that.

Hopefully here are pics, not very good as I have no digital pics of it but this is a scan from when I bought it

sorry to hear about your landy. Know of identical one near to me (but not yours I sold it for a new one about about 5 years ago) and it'sonly used for running about the field.
But will keep an eye out for yours ,as you say the colour was quite rare.

Its been found!!!!!!!!!
Thames Valley Police have recovered it from somewhere near Reading, along with another/others. They say it is ok but now a different colour and has different reg plates.
Don't know when I will get it back

I am sooooooo happy!!!!!!!

Reportedly much of stuff (4x4's), as well as campervans, ends up going to mainland europe via Ireland, although some obviously gets ringed with new identities or broken for parts here. This is also a recognised route for stolen plant from sites etc. It can be on a boat and across the water within hours, before anyone even notices it's gone. My mates camper was recovered there, with new paint job and with a nice new interior!

I know of a defender in Kent that was nicked for use in a ram-raid. Came back with a broken chassis.
