My land rover was stolen 13/11/10 at approx 18.30 from hinton waldrist, faringdon. Its reg is WF51 YFV it's green and has an ifor williams back on it. Please keep your eyes peeled! My mum was at home and hear it go and just assumed it was me!

Firstly, welcome to the forum.

Secondly, I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Do you have any pics of it? Members in surrounding areas are usually more than happy to keep an eye out for it.

Keep an eye out on Ebay and also Autotrader for a vehicle with a similar appearance. (plates may have been changed) While rare, they have been known to end up on these sites. As yours isn't that old, it will have a higher resale value, so parting it out (like they usually do) may not be the most lucrative option for them.

Your TD5 90 is still showing up as being insured. You need to contact your insurance company so that they can remove it from the insurance database. That way, if the police do a passing ANPR check on your registration, it will flag up as being uninsured and they will stop the driver for it. This will also be the case if it's reported for being stolen. Though, it's possible that they may have changed the plates.

Sorry to hear of yet another landy being nicked.

As it's unusual to actually hear your vehicle being stolen can I ask if your mum heard the engine on your landy start up so it could be driven away or is it more likely that it was towed away? I'm asking as it may help other landy owners to know which it was. Cheers.:)

when my old 90 got stolen the next door neighbor saw the whole thing,it was about 7.30pm(so dark),they said a black discovery pulled up behind it,passenger got out and walked straight to drivers door, got in started it up & both motors drove of,cos a lot of my mates have landy's they thought it was me getting dropped off to pick my 90 up,they said it happened so fast they never thought anything of it

what year and engine was your landy mate?

Sorry to hear about the 90 mate, will keep a look out in our neck of the woods also, these scum bags often operate over a wide area, so you never know.

it was an 88 E reg with 200tdi disco engine conversion,i normally blocked it in with my car and work van,my wife came to pick me up from pub in car and thats when it went (she was gone about 20 min at most),which makes me think they were watching it or they came just at right time

i think we'd all be amazed with the planning the little scrowts manage to do, the must watch wot we do day to day coz we all have a routine. Then they know when to strike, if i had a 90 again id be parking it up on street without a disc lock and maybe even leave it unlocked. have a load of lads round at my house 4 a few beers and sit and watch, with some mates waiting in a car round corner. Id rig summet up so it would only run for a few minutes.

yeh that sounds good:Dme & mates keep askin about for "cheap parts",i know the parts are meant to be going abroad but surely they must be knockin some out over here, sooner or later the bastards will slip up
