Still got alarm problems

Hi all , recently posted a thread regarding the alarm on my disco 300 tdi not causing the indicators to flash upon arming. Disconnected the battery as advised, if i arm the alarm then enter the vehicle via the passenger or rear door the alarm will sound. If i arm the alarm with the drivers window open & then put my hand near the senors on the sunroof switch nothing happens. Am i right in assuming that the volumetric side of the alarm is not working & if this is right is there a fix. Any suggestions please Snoops

Thats correct if the alarm is set then opening of the any doors will activate it.
The ultrasonic sensor is not that sensitive, I have in the past locked my disco leaving the drivers window down overnight and nothing has happened, try waving your keys at it.

When this type of sensors were fitted as part of a building alarm system the Installer use to wave a bunch of keys at the sensor to test it and some were so sensitive (faulty) that a leaf from a pot plant would set off an alarm things have changed now it's ultrasonic combined with passive infra-red.

Hi Discool, thanks again for your reply, i will try waving keys at the sensors later. I am still concerned that the indicators are still not flashing when the system is armed, i always thought this was an indication that the interior sensors have been armed. Snoops

Flashing is an indication of locking/alarm, one is unlock, three is lock, locking with the key will disable the interior ultrasonic sensor but still flash lock/alarm, also the sensor has been known to go faulty if it still doesn't work.
Sorry but u will have to remind me of the model of disco u have D1 200 or 300 or D2
