Hi

Trying to change the steering wheel in my 90 and need to get a boss however the 2 auto shops ive been to don't even seem to know what a land rover is!!

Can anyone tell me what/where i can get a boss for a P Reg (97) 300TDi defender or how many slines it has??

Seen a few on Craddocks website but cant work out which ones right for me!!

Thanks

Using Demon Thieves can be very expensive!!!!! I would stick to Paddock/Craddock etc, more because they will know your required boss better than other suppliers. The cheapest and knowledgable parts supplier that I use is Rally Design they are normally 1/3 of the price of others.

For the number of splines you really have to check yourself, it will be either 36 or 48 spline.

What sort of wheel are you after?
A Mountney 'classic' boss is the cheapest and most common LR fitment but it means you can only fit one of the Mountney 'classic' wheels. The aftermarket industry standard is the '6-hole' type and while they are (slightly) more expensive they allow a wide range of wheels from many manufacturers to be fitted. Note:- The Mountney 'classic' range also uses 6-holes for mounting the wheel to the boss but the two ranges are very different and should not be confused.

Having run Mountney 'classic' wheels for years I am now running a Moutney '6-hole' boss with 'Snap-Off' adapter and a Raid 12-inch leather/brushed alloy wheel which is a very comfortable set-up.
