Steering guard and bull bars

I have a similar setup as to the one shown in pic you posted.

I am using Rebel streering guard as well. Basically, you'll have to "bend" the bullbar mount slightly to slot the guard mount in between the chassis and the bull bar mount or vise versa. However, I did not cut out the center part of the spoiler as the streering guard fits right behind it.

However, It the streering guard comes with high lift jacking points and recovery points, you'll find that they wont fit as the jacking points are exactly where the bull bar mounts are. So, ditch the bull bar and get the streering guard with recovery points and jacking points or get the streering guard without the jacking points.

If you're like me who still wants to retain the bull bar for whatever reason, you could fabricate the recovery points with 6mm - 10mm steel plate and fit them on the "inside" of the chassis. I will post the picture of the recovery point I make when its done, probably after next weekend.

Ive taken me front spoiler off so thats not a problem.Would I have to take me jate rings off or can I have jate rings and the steering protection-therefore buy the one without recovery points?

Where did you mount the jate ring if I may ask?

I've been trying to mount some jate rings to the front but the overall thickness of chassis rail + bumper mount + steering guard mount + bull bar mount is too wide for the jate rings I have. I have both types of jate rings, the original LR type with continuous curve bar and the other type like a round bar welded between 2 10mm steel plate.

yup..i've a pair of that too and its sitting in the cabinet not doing anything as cant fit them on, hence I am making a pair of recovery points using 6mm chequer plate taken from Spudy. The recovery point will be bolted with the two bumper mount bolts on the inside of the chassis rail.

hmm leaves a dilema then!Steering protection with recovery or bull bars with recovery but not steering proection, recovery and bullbars!

hahaha...I am going for all the above.....wil post a pic of the recovery point once made as well as a pic on when they're installed......you'll have to wait though as am going camping this weekend..so will get that done next week....could probably make you a set too if there's enough material....am making a set for spud too...as looking forward to be towing him out more often...

ohhh...for got to mention, you may need a set of longer bolts too if you want to bolt everything on the same bumper mount....I renewed all the bolts with 140mm x M12 high tensile....its a bit long though, but I have a winch tray in between the chassis rail, hidden behind the bumper...

I would appriceate that! And yeah, Definately need recovery i tend to find my self stuck very ofeten too!I think its cos im more adventurous than most.
Thats what i keep telling meself anyway....

yeah they are on me to do list but MT tyres are first, Ive put them off for nearly 3 months now!!Im spending money like its going out of fashion!!

I would still say the diff guard should be of higher priority to the MT's....once you get the MT's, you'll venture further and possibly in more situations where your diff may be damaged....the thing with diff damage is it wouldn't be a bother when nothing happens, but once damaged, you will likely be needed to be towed home and spending more money to fix them.....and they are less than 40 quid a pair from paddocks anyway....add a few more items, you get free delivery....

hiya goon, are your bull bars sitting on the inside or outside of the chassis rails? or both? i fit mine with bull bars and have made the recovery points to sit below the bracket on the bull bars so the points aint fouled by them. infact hang on ill have a look at yer link.

to be honest i am over the city all day every day, trying to think what i have done today now, mainly kirby, queens drive and walton. you local are yer? and what made you think it was me?

I live in West Derby, and am often in Walton and Kirkby. I thought I spotted a "RAZ" plate on a Disco, but couldn't see all the plate. Was going the other way in my Classic.
