Will it fit is the question??
I've looked on the bay of E..and there are different part numbers but some are also saying fits all models then some say 1994-1999 then others say 1999-2002 ??

Two part numbers listed ANR3242 fitted to VA375483 and ANR5320 fitted from VA375484. ANR3242 is no longer available. Land Rover say use ANR5320 but you also need a pipe QEP104660 to do this. So by inference you should have ANR5320 and QEP104660 fitted and the earlier box will not fit unless you change the pipe to suit it.

If it's any help, I swapped my steering box on the weekend with a refurbished one from eBay (steering specialists I think was the seller) and they had it listed as being 1994-2001. I've got an '01 Vogue, and the one sent to me fit first time, and the pipework lined up properly aswell. If the VIN of your older P38 is later than VA375484 (which is somewhere in the '97-'98MY range) then you might be lucky and already have the later box part # on your parts vehicle...

The biggest PITA of the job was getting the drop arm off the old box to fit it back to the new one as it was pretty solidly held on there.

If you are looking at getting a refurb one, then I would recommend them - I need to box my old one up and get it sent back to them!

Yes if his spare came from a 1998 WA VIN prefix car it should fit.
