help. i have an annoying problem on my landy, its very intermittant. normally when getting into the car and turn the key the dash lights up with normal lights, bat, oil, abs, glow plugs, and during that process you hear an audible donk. solenoid, possibly, turn the key to switch starter motor on and the engine starts, the problem happens when you dont hear that donk noise, you get no power to the starter motor soleniod.
Have replaced ignition switch, ignition relay, starter motor. still no joy. have linked up a seperate switch to get over the problem. live straight to the starter motor solenoid via fuse and switch. dont think its to do with immobilisor as engine starts when has power to starter motor , immobilisor would cut diesel as well .?
