Hello I have just joined this group I don’t know very much about my Freelander but I can do easy jobs, My car is a Face lift Freelander 1 which I got new in 2004 the cars hasn’t cost very much over the years just the usual window regulators ,etc The car has been parked up for 3 weeks now.
I know have a starting problem the engine turns over ok but won’t start, I flattened the batter so had to push the car out my drive so I could jump start it still would not start
I got the car facing down hill and parked it over night this morning I tried to jump start again and the car started fist time I took it foe a wee run to charge the battery on my way back I booted it to 70 mph the car ran great but when over 50 mph a yellow engine warning came on this light went out as soon as I lifted my foot and came back on when I floored it again this did not happen below 50 mph
When back home I noticed the fuel pump was noisy and vibrating
Has anyone had the same problems and how do I fix it
Thanks
Tom

Might just be lack of use. Crud in fuel filter making pump strain? Would use it a bit, charge battery fully, check charging voltage as maybe a low voltage problem too. 14.6v with engine running ideally. If that fails check, clean or replace fuel filter. Under drivers side rear wheel arch. With fuel pump. If you have diagnostics check low pressure supply and report back!

Hi Andy
Thanks for the help I can’t remember the last time I had the filter done probably 3 or 4 years the car only does 3k miles per year
Cheers

Sounds like the low pressure fuel pump is on its last legs.

Get a decent quality replacement, not a cheap Ebay one. ;)
