My 1963 series IIA LWB is fitted with a Disco 200 di (no turbo). With a full tank of diesel it starts first flick at all times. However, when approaching half full and when parked slightly uphill it takes around 25 seconds of continually turning the engine over with foot flat on the throttle to finally get her to fire up. Starts fine if parked slightly down hill. No obvious fuel leaks. Any thoughts anyone?

Hi Ctypejag,it might be well worth checking your fuel cap on your land rover.make sure it is a vented cap,and not creating a vacum when half way,you could also check the sediment filter inside the diesel tank.Hope this is the cure to your problem.Jimthebeast
