Just wondering if there is anything to look out for/change with this engine ? Eg with the td6 the crank case breather needed changing. It's ready for the Cambelt an pump belt change so wanted to see if owt else needed checking while I was on with this ? Many thank in advance

Lol after NEVER getting the l322 eas sorted I'd had enough so chopped it in and bought a sport ! Got a two year ultimate warranty too just in case ;-) ! Even land rover uk technical and the dealers working together could not sort the eas they tested everything but it still kept failing !! So I thought bugger it I'm gettin rid before I CAN'T get rid ! Anyways owt to look out for or need to check change on the sport ? I'm booking it in for Cambelt/pump belt an tensioner pulleys changing very soon

Apparently yes BUT I've found two firms locally that can do it without removing the body ? Apparently anyway ? I'm looking at about 400 quids for full belt and tensioner kit parts labour an vat ! Dint think that was bad at all tbh ? Is there owt else to do check change etc do we know ?

The cambelt is an easy enough job with the right kit and info, but the hot tip is to fit an oil pump at the same time.(I wouldnt do one without changing it)
The fuel pump belt is more difficult, needs no special tools, takes me about 1 1/2 hours on a warm day.(Cold hands slow me down...)

They have an "Ear" that the timing belt tensioner bolts to - which breaks off... The price from LR is about £60 from LR.
A few weeks ago they were on back order, the part number has changed 5 or 6 times and the latest ones are much stronger around the area where the tensioner bolts on.And LR say there is no problem with them - strange that....

Things to look out for: front arc unit leaking rear arc unit leaking, front and rear d bushes knocking, front lower arms hydro bushes weak and knocking, rear upper arms excessive play, rear brake pipes over rear axle corroding, rear handbrake guides wearing, seized rear calipers or pins, transfer cases weaping oil, not putting the oil filter in the correct location and breaking nipple off filter not lubing o ring on filter housing and nipping seal and then throwing oil in the valley. Not adjusting handbrake correctly will leave them binding on and heating discs up.

Need I say anymore......

O yes just make sure you dont throw oil over yourself when draining oil enjoy it if not using a ramp

Well Matt you will be happy to know that bar the rear roll bar bushes it's mechanically sound (at the min lol) had it on a ramp not an oil leak in sight everything tight an solid brakes balanced perfectly the lot so belts changed serviced up good to go !
