Spontaneous Swivel joint leakage

Was having a go at removing the drivers side front brake disc for a new one yesterday and didn't get very far because I didn't have the right socket to get the brake caliper bolts undone but while I was looking around the bottom of the swivel joint went from dry to leaking like crazy very quickly indeed.
Something I'd fully expect if I had attempted to do anything but this time simply looking at it seemed to have started it off.

Undone the two 17mm headed bolts on the top swivel pin perhaps?

instead of supporting under the lower pin first

You question seems loaded, which means I definitely did to undo the bracket holding the drake pipe on

So if I put those two bolts back in it should it should tighten it all back up and stop the oozing ?

Probably, as with loosening/removing the top swivel bolts, you have allowed the swivewl ball to drop, alllowing the oil to leak out.

hopefuly just check it doesnt trap the seal lip,and support before undoing those bolts again

And check/top up the oil.

And every day is 'buy a new tool day' because I never seem to have the right, spanner, socket , widget for the Defender, and I've got loads of tools
