Hi guys. I’m looking to get more room as a driver in my disco 2. I’m 6’8” and its a bit tight there what is very uncomfortable on longer journeys... I have idea how to sort driver seat extending fitting points to the floor and knocking off the lock preventing sliding backwards more, what should give me some space. Also thinking about smaller steering wheel, ie. 3 spoke with air bag from rover simillar reg... but what about the spline? Is it going to match? Anyone done simillar conversion before?

Is your steering wheel set to max upper position?... i'm 6.3 and the seat is not even fully pushed backwards and i'm feeling fine, i can push it 10 cm more though that +15 cm of yours might be some difference  ... anyway, you can fit smaller ''sport'' steering wheel by using one of these(the selection for different splines and diameters is at the bottom of the page) https://www.sahara4x4.com/b2c/produ...ring-wheel-hub-kit-for-land-rover-discovery-2

EDIT: ... or this exactly in London https://www.ebay.com/itm/STEERING-W...398244&hash=item5d7e9edf83:g:~3cAAOSwe-FU3JAe

Hi.
Yes, sreering wheel is max high position... I’m nearly breaking my fingers off the joints every time when I want to open the doors... I’m just fit in with no much movements inside... operating only top half of the steering wheel as bottom half is very close to my right knee... so I need to get some more space, planning to drive to Europe near future...
About the steering... I would like to get one with airbag... somewhere on the net I found that rover steering wheel is 1” smaller and spline will fit disco 2... MG full leather with airbag are on ebay around £50

You'll have to ask the seller how many splines and what ID has that wheel but this is only a small element from the whole story, the airbags can have different resistances between vehicles and that resistance must match with what's on the D2 as well otherwise it will not work, so it is with the rotary coupler, it must have the same circuits and plugs unfortunately i know nothing about MG.

IMO it's easyer to move the whole seat back, you have only to be handy and use rivnuts, inserts or something as to make 4 new fixing points for the seat base

Welcome and good luck, make some pics or a tutorial cos my brother in law is also around 6.9" tall basket player and he is interested in this too even though he has a 2015 RRS in which he is at the limit of he's knees at full back setting of thye seat

Well, over the weekend I’m going to my mate’s garage... He’s got MIG welding machine and we will try to extend fitting points so seat will be moved more to the rear when bolted back in
