So I've had a look on You tube!
Dc100 concept, it's growing on me.
The self deployed spiked tyres, will they be feasible?
When deployed, will the car be limited to a safe driving speed?
But most important! How much will these feckers cost?

Also, in the dc100 range, will there be a 4 door long wheel base version?

Landrover insiders spill the beans please.:p

well i think the dc100 may have been scrapped. i haven't heard anything about it other than it going very quite in LRO. and to be honest i hope they do scrap it.
and spiked tyres would be FECKING expensive imagine the electronics in them

Landrover are deffinately launching a new defender model in 2015, the business has comitted to this!
I know the dc100 is a concept, and I'm sure the thing will look different in 2015.
However I still want automatic air inflated spiked tyres. Lol

yeh sorry i kow there still launching a new design but i don't think it will look anything like the dc100. and yeh i wouldn't mind tyre spikes as well lol

99% the 2015 defender will be based on the new PLA architecture that the L405 and L494 are based on.

Don't expect it to look too different from the concept, maybe jus a bit sharper on the edges and stuff. They need to get it a bit aerodynamic for emissions and pedestrian safety.

or is that just me?

Considering you're not allowed spiked tyres in the UK its pretty pointless
Spiked tyres are only banned at present because they would damage a non snow covered road as the spikes are not easily practically removed like snow chains can be. If a system that only deploys the spikes as and when required I could see them being proved to be legal.

My tyres are spike-able but you cant buy them over here to spike the buggers

I like it. It has that toyota fj look about it. If you think about it,they are pushing the disco very high end making room for something bigger than a freelander but not as expensive as a disco. If the pricing is 25k-35k it will sell like hot cakes.

I don't think any farmers or commercial operators will buy it, but I think don't land rover cares either. Plenty of small trucks and pickups in that market already.
