after having problems with the immobiliser on my 96 300 tdi i decided to buy a spider bypass fitted it today and it now seems to have more power is this possible or is all in my imagination Ady:)

It's possible, as now your getting a full voltage to the the part of your engine that the spider would isolate as part of the immobilising, which would not be the case maybe if the spider was failing.

You won't catch me pulling the dash apart :) but I installed 12v supply direct to my ignition system when that part of the my spider failed recently, the engine does seem smoother now and quicker firing up... 2 seconds instead of 3. :D

Dunno. As far as I read up on it , you can tell if you got edc, as throttle is fly by wire (electric stuff). Mine is cable operated. Or am I getting things wrong ...... As usual again. It's a 300
