Hi,

Does anyone have speakers installed in the doors of their Landy?

Is there space in the doors? Or any other suggestions welcome.

I'm going to try and install some 6.5" component speakers, which have a crossover and separate tweeter (hopefully mount that on A-Pillar).

Thanks for any help,

Paul

You could put them in the doors but you wont be able to wind the windows down, the norm is to mount them on the underside of the dash just in front of your knees with spacers and grilles. I got 6x9's and mounted them in the rear tub in mdf boxes instead

not at home at the mo so not on this computer i dont but i reinforced the back of the headlining with 6mm ply just above slightly behind the door, cut out a circle and bolted speakers in. dont have a sub atm that will in an arrangement behind the middle seat similar to urs.

yea sounds good, im interested in this sort of setup actually, cuz im putting in a partition so theres gonna be a bit of relocation of the speakers involved, what size are they? do the rattle against the roof at all no?

actually i have no idea what size they are i just relocated them from under the dash but theres no rattle if there was id jut stick a piece of foam behnd

i got two pairs of speakers, pair by my ears, but you get impression that sound is banging against your right ear more than left, unless you balance them. but I put a set above the rear door in the corners. does the trick nicely! and was cheap as chips to do. two brackets and four cable ties each. wont win any awards for style, but does trick. had no rattle in mine either, hence the cable ties to attach firmly to the brackets. wires run along the channel on side of landy then down the window frames beind the plastic. cant see a thing!

I've got some 200w Blaupunkt replacement speakers in the dash panel and a 500w slimline Blaupunkt active sub mounted on the bulkhead behind the cubby box between the front seats. Also got a Blaupunkt MP53 head unit and it sounds great. I use my iPod as the music source as CDs were tending to jump when driving over bumps. Also dont have to worry about scratching/storage of the discs etc.

ive got speakers in my doors and dnt hava problem wit winding te windows up and down. not a fan of them ther tho as they get kicked about a bit gettin in and out plus they get flooded when in deep water. anyone got any ideas wher to relocate them ina truck cab??
