Spare wheel mounting

I got two of these, LR series lists them as being defender mountings and was just wondering if these would work on me series ?




And if so, would it be safe, I don't want to trust the strap on it's own as it doesn't seem man enough to me, plus theres the option of putting a piece of threaded bar into the mounting on the bonnet through the center hole with a hold drilled through it for a padlock.
