Hello all

If like me, Easter is dealing with you RR then I thought it would be a good time for me to ask for help from the wealth of knowledge on here.

I was taking some cooling pipes of the engine ( more later ) when i noticed both of these connectors where not in use and reconnected them.

The RR ran fine when they where unplugged, so I'm just wondering what they are? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

My other query is about the cooling.

On my way home the other night it started to overheat. I popped the bonnet and there was steam coming from the side of the engine.
One pipe was burst, this runs from the top of the engine to the side shown below,

The other runs from the bottom of the radiator and runs over the top of the other pipe to the connection shown in the picture below.

Could anyone please help with the part numbers ( or description ) for these pipes as I cannot find a decent drawing which tells me.

Are these engines liable to blowing head gaskets? I had it serviced recently and the history is not full but not terrible. The oil is clear and not milky.

I just don't want to think about doing the heads.

All help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance

Regards

Gary

The plugs you mention are for the EGR valves, you can see the blanking plate quietly rusting away... So a previous owner will have had them 'mapped out' as you don't mention the EML being illuminated.
The hoses, I can't really help as the photos are too close in to identify where they are. However, you might find what you need here https://new.lrcat.com/#!/12129/113551/114510/9087

Thanks for the info I'll try to get my head round it;

One of the pipes goes from the center top of the engine behind the fan to the connection just under the EGR valve. The other one goes to a T piece at the rear of the engine from the bottom of the radiator.

I forgot to say its the 2.7 TDV6

Just hope its not the head.
