Hi fellow,
I mounted the mantec spare wheel carrier on my Defender 110 and I am carrying 2 bicycles on the Fiamma Carry-Bike Backpack 4x4 ,but I am not really happy the door is so heavy to open and I can t images that will survive my trip ( I am starting the Panamericana end of April and I am shipping now on Monday to Halifax by the way you can follow us if u like gerardo_landrover).I just find in youtube this guy

seprate the carrier from the door cutting the piston do you think is possible to do it with the mantec carrier too? or what you will suggest me anything I will need to do it in Canada now or should I look for another better bycicle carrier
I appreciate anything
Thank you and safe ride to all

The door should not be carrying any weight at all, it is only connected to the carrier so it and the door move together.

But the door if you split it and swing away the carrier is taking the weight the door is empty and when I am staying much easy to open the door
