Quick follow up ..

The attachment is a picture of the area. As you can see there are a few lanes in the area, but they don't take long to do and are a good intro for someone who doesn't want to hurt their off-roader.

Freelanders would be fine ... ;)

Sorry, I didn't think.

I'll edit it out.

If anyone wants a picture before they decide they want to come, pm me, I'll be here up to 7pm .. off out tonight, though I'm driving and our lass is drinking this weekend ... )

Right, gotta go out, and yes, they're forcing me ;)

So, if anyone's up for a gentle meander down farm tracks with a couple of gentle sandy bits and minor mud that Freelanders, RR Sports et all can easily do, I think our lasses Nissan Micra could do them, then I'll be in the pub car park (dunno it's name) opposite the Bawtry car auctions from about 1/4 to 10 until about 1/4 past 10 tomorrow morning. These are all legal green lanes with no TRO's on them. Indeed they're mostly farm tracks.

Not worried if no-one comes, but obviously wouldn't want 48 to turn up either ... ;) I'm going to do them anyway.

I'll try my best but it is quite a long trek from Preston and there is some work I should do while I've got the time.

I wouldn't come from Preston mate, there's only about a couple of hours worth of lanes, even if we double up on a few. ;)

Found a lane near me by shear luck on memory map it's not very long but all the lanes around here have been declassified by the council. So I'll check it out tomorrow.

Well, no-one turned up, but no worries, we (swmbo and I) went anyway to check the lanes out if anyone fancies it some other time ...

Some pics to show what they're like. Very few bumpy bits, very few scratchy bits, good intros to laning, nothing of any issue and Freelanders would get through all of them easily.

Drove most of them and a few in reverse, you have to to do them all as there's only a few, and it took about 1 1/2 hours. never needed Lo box or Diff-Lock. Photo-009 is the only place where either might be needed when coming up, the camber is about 25 degrees but it's quite sandy with good grip, so no real worries but a good starter area .. ;)

i'll certainly be up for it next w/end if yr free, had a little issue with a union meeting today, not good news, and last night a spark plug decided to get stuck and break, hopefully getting it sorted next saturday!!!

let me know if yr interested in covering some old ground again and i'll deffo be there, at least i will if the spark plug issue is sorted or stays the way it is and doesnt get any worse.

Gav, I can't do next Sunday as I'm competing in an Archery tournament, but Saturday might be OK, but I can't confirm that until Tuesday.

As well as the lanes we did today there are a couple nearby that I've not done and am keen to have a look at.

Cheers Gaz. Yup, it's a good intro to laning for first-timers. ;)

Sorry, can't get away this weekend.

I'm also tied up the next few weekends after that.

If anyone wants a picture of the map/area I can pm them a copy, or at least a picture showing the tracks which they can then transfer to their own maps. If anyone's got memory Map I could also mark them as tracks and send it that way too.
