Classic Sounds like a Tractor and has lost Power

Just got a message from my mate and his 1991 Range Rover Classic is playing up! It's the 3.9 V8 Efi model and as the title says he started it this morning (it was ok last night) and it sounds like a tractor and has lost power!!

Any ideas what has happened and any ideas if it will be a big job or not to fix?

Is it running on all cylinders? sorry you haven't given a lot of info. Can you post a video?

Tell your mate to check the exhaust manifold. Sounds like a loose manifold. Also check the connections at the down pipes.

Unless someone has nicked his engine and fitted a diesel.
