MASSIVE MOT failure has occured
Got to replace 3 wheel bearings virtually all of the suspension bushes and most of the steering joints.
First Problem Both rear wheel bearings have excessive play but the n/s rear hub the drive member has been welded on by previous owner after stripping threads. So hub needs replacement i have a full set of 300 tdi dicovery rear axles in the garage so was going to pillage the hub but my defender axle is not well either very noisy.
Can i staight swap the rear axles?
Also i have all the arms etc from the dicovery could i polybush these and fit them when i fit the axle.
Are the radius arms etc the same size on 110 and disco?

You can't straight swap the rear axles as the 110 has a salisbury rear axle as aooposed to the rover axle of the disco.

In theory it should fit, you may need to change the output shaft on the rear axle and fit different sized spring seats

HOWEVER as Ratty says, it is not advisable, the salisbury axle that is on your 110 is much stronger, designed to cope with the load carrying/towing capabilities of your 110 whereas the disco one is not rated to cope with such weights

can the hubs be swapped as i can't find a salisbury rear axle with disc brake hubs locally and i have these useless disco bits laying around. To sort the welded hub it will need to be cut and replaced.
