Look at the Clio that hit me.......

Right here's what happened.
I slowed down and came to a stop, 20 seconds later BIG BANG.
Driver of the Clio said at the scene "He never saw me either stop or either stationary", he hit me at 40mph, NO skid marks at all and he even admitted that he never braked.
The Clio came off worst.
BUT
The Landy has bent the bumper up, popped the rear wings, knackered the Towing bracket and wiring, none of the tail-lights work anymore, due to the tow bar wires shorted out, the fuel tank has a dent in it, and the impact caused the dash spedo and rev counter to fall off.
I have a very very stiff neck and collar bone, been to the hospital and had it recorded, also police attended and have an incident number.
So at the age of it, they may write it off, can't inform insurance due they closed at 12 noon.

Wow and i thought i was having a bad day....

Looks like to tow bar took the brunt of the force, wonder what state it would be in if you didn't have one fitted.

Good luck and hope everything turns out ok.....

nice scooter...hope yur all all right

How do you think I got home, lol :p
Yes alright, just very stiff.

Bet you're glad you were in a landy. Hope your injurys aren't too bad. Are the police gonna prosecute the clio driver for undue care and attention?

Very glad I was in the Landy, not sure about what police are doing, up to them really.

Do you think they may write it off?
Underneith behind the bumper is a crossbeam between the chassis rails and that is bent like a banana, due to the towbar is bolted to that??

What do you lot think?

they will probably write it off as its worth not a lot....see how much it will cost to repair and if viable you can buy it off them

When you say the wings have popped do you mean buckled/creased? Have a look at the boot floor. If it is rippled or the rear wings are gone then I would say yes.

Thats probably repairable, our 300tdi has been run into twice now, never quite as bad as the speed was lower. Thats 2 brand new bumpers and full rear end resprays we got out of it.

Because its their insurance there is more chance they will payout, if not your insurance will argue the case for you; its an easy option for the other lot just to write yours off and shut you up with a pathetic payout.

Just down loading a few more pictures.

The rear wing isn't crease or the boot floor luckily.

It is just the bottom that has torn off the inner wing, picture will show it.

But have alook at that crossmember, grrr.

Pictures to follow.

think logically.a mate of mine brought an old series for £800,run it for 12 mths put it thru its mot,6 weeks later it was T boned, footwell outrigger split the fuel tank open they wrote it off.the insurance payed him out £1500,he bought it back for £250,parked it up for six weeks then some mug knocked on the door,he ended up sellin it to him for £750.work it out for yourselves.

Hi Simon, I'm really sorry to hear your news - how sickening is that.

I bet you nearly punched the other driver when they said they didn't see you!!

"That's because you weren't looking you numpty!!"

Unfortunately I can imagine the insurance taking one look and writing her off. I suspect that some or most of the damage could be pulled out, so IF they do a write-off, see how much they want for the salvage.

Well he's ruptured your fuel tank so watch out for naked flames. I'd say the insurance will probably write it off. mainly due to the labour costs required to put it right.
