Batteries are vented for sure but would they let water in?!

As long as the vent pipe is pointing down, the bore is so small that ambient pressure trapped inside the battery vessel would most likely preclude the ingress of H2o into the compartment.

I think there is a competition to be had here.

How deep into water can your engine run before being wrecked.............. Anyone?

I was thinking more about both terminals being under water and potentially shorting?

No they won't short pal because the voltage isn't high enough!

The engine won't be under for that long in theory, the plan is to lower the car in using another 4x4 so that we don't have to open a door or anything, to minimise the amount of water that gets inside!

Must be fresh.

Must be clear!

Must have a decent angle of entry so that the front end is much deeper than the doors etc.

Must be local enough to me.

Any ideas??

Have you got a marina near you? Boat ramp would fit the bill i guess.

just make sure you are hooked up to another vehicle just incase it goes pear shaped! lol

I'm thinking boat ramp/slipway yes but don't have much water nearby!!

Yeah the plan is to lower it in USING another vehicle so we can pull it straight out again if it goes wrong!!

It's one of the few that are actually even nicer when you see, and hear, them in the flesh ...
