Hey dude thought that I would visit your thread as I havent done for a while (Sorry) and boy that motor is a credit to your attitude and enthusiasm, a worthy landy to grace the pages of the magazine.

I listen to your videos and remember why I love the V8's soo much and although I miss the noise I don't honestly miss the conking out in the water, however there is a conversion you can get now which makes the motor run under water - no **** dude - i mean under water. Obviously you need the snorkel etc otherwise that would be too much to ask.

Megasquirt is the name and it is only around £300 or so to convert. Try it as your next mod.

Anyhow I see you are running Maxxis. I tried and failed to get a hold of the new Kumhos and am now pig sick but like the look of GT Adventuros. Are they any good?

I like the sub box arrangement although I am guessing you are a little more handy than just sticking a sub box in the back. I am looking at eventually fitting a system in the roof void and will probably use some vibrating subs under the seats etc but you have to be careful with teh water eh.

All in all mate I really like what you have done. the car is, as I said a credit to you and once mine is done we will have to meet up for a days laning - if you can afford the juice lol

I actually posted about the tyres in the winch bumper/number plates thread.

I have actually known about megasquirt for a while mate, I would certainly like to fit it, I think it would improve my economy ASWELL tbh. I saw the kits on trigger-wheels.co.uk but there are other vendors too.

Maybe a job for next year, depends on cost. Mega jolt is cheaper but I think mega squirt is around 600...?

As for the sub, it was a random idea one day. I had not had a sub for ages because my last car was a track car that didn't even have a radio!

I sourced the sub and box for about 80 quid, the rest of the stuff I had in stock from old systems. It is mounted up high on that shelf for the very reason that if the v8 conks underwater hopefully the sub won't get wet!

And yes I would very much like to meet up for a days laning, maybe a weekend?!

I read about Megasquirt from a newsletter at my local off road club. The guy apparently was importing it and making the kits himself. This was last year though.

I am trying to keep a brave face on tonight as the weekend is all about the disco and finishing off that welding but the forecast isn't great. Not sure I can weld in the rain.

Ian if you want it I have a 3m x 3m gazebo you can have if it's any good to you it's battered but water tight-ish, shame my driveway isn't finished (cant be driven on till mid next week)as I would have offered to get your motor round in to the garage,

Hey oop nice job on the Disco, was just wondering, what the thinking was on the positioning of the steering damper? mines attached to the track rod, is there any advantage to putting it on the drag link rod?

Relocating it to the drag link stops it getting smashed to **** underneath the car mate.

If it hasn't happened already then you need to get more stuck in
