Worthing
Possibly a silly question.
My Landy failed to start yesterday, the first time it has ever done this!
There is 11.6V on the battery but no noises from the solenoid or starter motor.
I have check the wiring as best I can and have not found any loose connections.
I am wondering should I just go out and buy a new solenoid, and if I do, how easy (or not) is it to remove and replace? Will I have to take the starter motor out at the same time?
I have looked at other posts on similar problems but none answer the questions above.
Even You Tube has failed me. I do use that quite a bit for other Landy related stuff.
Thanks in advance
Nigel

Poor connection on the ignition wire [ the small one ] is common problem. Test with meter or 12v lamp. You do not say which model you have or if diesel or petrol. Solenoid may be on the starter or separate on the bulkhead, key operated or direct button.

Sorry. It is a Series 3 diesel. Solenoid is on the starter motor. Thanks for the advice. I will check on the meter on Wednesday before work.

I would remove all connections on starter and clean then until bright, earths as well charge battery then have a go , is it even making a click when you turn key

No, not at present. It did initially. Will be charging as soon as I get home on Wednesday. Thanks.
