repaired it was cut and 'repaired' with drain pipe when I got given it and the elbow under the top was just 2 bits of gutter pipe cut at an angle and riveted together and it was the rivets that got pulled though the pipe so I have just redone the rivets for now and will make something a bit more complete and sturdy. maybe a proper elbow bonded on if I can get the right angle if not I'll have to cut and shut something

I think we should stay away from trees/bushes for a while especially how tight that lane was.

You should give yarwell a try. Get some good wheel lift with a freelander. I've read a 2" lift suits, bet your ass dragged a bit in the ruts...

hoping to hit yarwell this weekend want to get the arches cut and the generals on for that though as I have already had some goo articulation there

tyres then lift. trust me lol

I would do tyres first but I've got my lift kit sat at the bottom of my stairs and have to step over it every morning.
Once thats out the way I'll sort some tyres, but my dilemma is whether to buy them now or hold out until new year?? They're bloody expensive and got xmas coming up!

Yeh the ruts were quite bad but the Kumho KL71s pulled me through everything plus they gave me about 1.5" lift due to bigger profile without a lift kit.
Lift kit to come though.

no wonder you want yours lifted asap lol I know the feeling of tripping over parts. I need to clear my sheds out as alot of my stuff is useless anyway

I was surprised with yours it did go quite well through all that mud and you were able to drive away from trouble where I had no choice. what size are they as I thought they looked a bit bigger, you have done what I have with my generals they give me another 1.5 inch lift as my standard ones are 28" and the generals are 31"

205/80 R16 but they are really aggressive being MTs

I got 4x Kumho KL71 MTs for £273.60 all in.

that's not a bad price I'm looking at about £500ish for a set of 265/70R16 so I have managed to acquire the generals that should be about £600 new. only downfall is that they are tubed and don't like being run at normal road speeds, they get warm and the tubes end up chaffing and going down so it's a case of changing wheels for road and off road use

Why dont you sell the generals on and buy a new set which are tubeless?

wouldn't get much for them really second hand tyres don't get that much and I wouldn't have the cash to put towards the new tyres so I' keeping them for offroading just didn't think the lanes would be as challenging as they were with road tyres

No me either, that first and last lane was challenging, tubes do have their advantages as well though bud.

yeah puncture repair ease. I can do it at home or if I have my levers and patches I can even do it on the side of the road :D got no hope with a tubeless and it can only be done within a certain area unlike tubes

I'm wanting to change my 90 for a Disco at some point and I'm tempted to try 7.50 x 16 MT's on plain LR steels but with spacers..

these are what I've got they seem quite good in mud and they behave well on the road untill it gets wet then they squirm everywhere but they are quite a hard tyre so it's not really surprising I'm just after another 8 spoke steel to fit the spare to so I have a matching set as my spare is on a rostyle at the minute so I can't mount my bike carrier if needed and the rostyle is a different width rim and probably different offset to the 8 spokes
