Post up a pic of the steps, if their similar to the ones I removed I'll have a look under the Disco as I'm almost certain I left the bracket's on.

If the steps are genuine parts then this is what the brackets look like.

Thanks guy's but there not like the one's in the picture,i'll try and upload a picture tomorrow, the steps themselves just have a 2 bars at rightangles to the steps them selves and have 2 holes drilled in them, how do you upload pictures on to here.i saw some that i thought were the ones on sidesteps.uk i got the link from here.i'll try again tomorrow.cheersAdi

thank shortround took your advice contacted people i got them from had a look under thier disco and the bracket's are still attatched to the outrigger's,is this a common fault do you think, people who sell the stepa are not aware that the brackets belong to the steps and not the chassis.anyhow their going to send them to me when they get them off, cheers boys.Adi.:clap2:

sorry for delay in answering, bin a bit busy what with the snow to play in,i think i was the only bloke at work the other day,on my way home there's a little back road short cut looked as though only one or two tyre, tracks had gone through so off i went nice bend and a nice incline as i reched the top a guy stood nevt to a Defender waved at me surley he wasnt stuck,i wound my window down andf he said"having fun yet"you bet i replied.anyhow the people emailed me and said they would try and get them off there disco but with the weather,i willhave to wait, but i will keep you in mind and thank you. Cheers Adi.

Seeings how this thread is now resolved I hoe no one will mind me going off topic slightly. Can you tell me how those rock sliders fit to the Disco? Do they replace the sills, and I'm assuming the plastic sill guard has to go. Last MOT I had the left side sill rebuilt this time around I know I need the other side done so I was thinking of fitting a set of sliders, but can't figure out if the sills need cutting out first.

I'm after some side steps in good nick, 95 300tdi es. If any one has some, I took mine of last week to repair them and I would have had to put more metal in than what was good 75% ofthe square box section was buggered and half of the flat plate so I binned them, I live in the West Yorkshire area.cheers,

ther is 2 typs of sliders
sill mount (somtimes used to hide nakerd sils) im working on some ajustable ones for people with repaird sills
or sill+chassis mount (dusnt mater if yout sills hav been repaird but thay need to be solid)

I'd definitely be interested the sill I have had welded was done with 3mm Galv and then tetrasealed and covered over with the plastic sill guard so it will last for a few years but a slider would need to cover the rebuild sill because its not the prettiest.

they bolt to the sills but yes the plastic cover has to go.
