Many thanks! I was that GAYlander!!!

Had a great afternoon driving from Hamble via Winchester to Petersfield on some nice untreated back roads .Then a few hours sledging with the kids on Butser hill! Returned to find a flat battery! (some muppet me!! ) left the lights on! Big big thanks to Juicyv8 for being there to recue us!
Felt a bit of a plonker as i didn't have any tools or jumpleads! They were left in my other car! Well it is a Lancia!

Anyway made it home ! thanks again
Cheers
Simon

No probs. Im constantly looking for laughs but when things need doing the **** stops.

Main thing is the kids are ok. Any longer and things would have got a bit nippy. Like to think that if any of my family were in the **** then someone who could help would.

Spent it on a bottle of coke that tastes good from the cold fridge(outside):D

That's what I did, I didn't imply that I didn't. I just didn't give step by step details on what I did lol.

Sometimes taking HDC off helped me to regain control!

My appologies,

The way I read it - looked like you used one or the other
maybe the tyres
I have found the HDC used with steptronic 1st works really well

snow love it!
Went for a trundle across the Long Mynd twice yesterday, nothing to ambitious but a laugh never the less
First time with Marshall power guard AT tyres fitted good grip but the traction control kicked in now and then (as it should)
Second time with a Set of 195/15 R Camac- Huge grip( no traction control intervention) even when trying to spin up the wheels they just dug in and off we went, bargin £100 quid from local paper small ads
A bit noisy on the road though but a god send at 5 AM on the way to work.
Well worth investing in a spare set of wheels & tyres it only takes 15 min to change them over may save time spent in a ditch

Not much snow in Dunstable, but managed to find some ice to do a 4 wheel wheelspin - at least I know I have got 4 wheel drive and TC light even works....then the AT2s found grip

Still snowing on and off here, it's been great:

I have to agree that there are times when HDC doesn't help. I was going down a hill that was so slippery the HDC didnt seem able to cope and the HDC didn't seem abot to cope with having no traction at all. Turning HDC off and just going down in 1st was the answer.

Opps Sorry about that I thought that my location was posted but like Mark2 says 15miles west of Shrewsbury Shropshire,
It wasn't a green lane though just the road across the summit( the lanes are drifted in to much to attempt them on your own) although as I sit here the weather is clearing and I expect the boys will be out to play later.

I dont have HDC on my FL, never really needed it.
Sure a low box would have been great.
