Hi, can you help me with this problem, recently I had to use jump leads to start my Freelander 2 2007 not an issue started first time, however since then when starting the engine it goes straight into snow program, I have taken battery lead off and on to see if it cures it nut still the same??

It shouldn't do that, unless it's in a settings procedure somewhere, which has got activated somehow.

Why did you need to use jumpleads?

If the battery is more than 3 years old, you'd be better off replacing it, as the FL2 is very power-hungry.

It had snowed and was standing for a few days. Car has starting fine after that.
If the battery failed to start it after a few days of cold, the battery is past its best and needs changing. ;)
What is a setting procedure and how can I check this
I don't know of a permanent snow setting, it was just a thought, as these cars are extremely complicated, and have lots of dealer settable options.

What happens if you move the terrain response to a different setting, mud and ruts for example? Are you just getting a snow flake symbol cos its cold?

From memory, the previous setting used is stored for a few hours after the vehicle is turned off, so it doesn't need changing to the correct setting, after stopping for fuel or shopping for example.
I'm wondering if the battery failing has corrupted the timing, so it's automatically entering a previous set mode.

Try turning the knob back to normal, then one click past normal. This might trick the system onto resetting back to normal again.

Also do you have the extra earth lead fitted, if not then have it fitted it helps with cranking over in cold mornings,
