Hi guys, help ,any ideas on why my rr is smoking after hard acceleration, it is running fine normally no smoke, no missfire, no cooling probs, my first thought was rings but no smoke at low med revs could it be turbo or egr problem any help greatfully recieved cheers.

Oh forgot to add smoke is white / blue and smells of hot oil.

Possibly a turbo seal on it's way home. If it was EGR sticking open you would get serious power loss and black smoke from over fuelling, because there would not be enough good air in the charge to burn it properly.

Cheers wammers i will pull pipe off and check spindle tomoz, are there any other checks i should make.

There is normally a little oil in the turbo pipes but check for it being really excessive. If it's burning turbo oil they will be swimming in it. When did you last clean the intercooler out?

Doesn't burn in the turbo Will, turbo blows oil into the manifold and the engine runs off it's sump oil that is a runaway. :);)

And with nearly 10 liters of oil that could run away for hours (obviously it would break before it used it all but you know)

Yeah you would certainly find out if all the nuts and bolts were tight or loose as the case maybe very quickly. Can be stopped with a Stanley knife pretty quickly if you're brave enough. :D:D
