Sluggish 90

Hello I am new to this forum but I need some help or advice.

Have an 08 90 defender with the tdci engine and been good so far if u ignore standard LR problems but on journey home tonight it became very sluggish when revving engine. Foot would be on the floor and it would slowly build revs till hitting approx 3000 when it would suddenly roar away. When I got home smelt very hot around engine somewhere and even when stationary engine was still sluggish to rev.

Any help gratefully received.

And also boost control valve sensor.

i had the same problem on my old petrol 90 turned out to be the air filter changed that and all was ok again but with tdis it might be different
