Ive Just Had My Underside Waxoyled And Added Slick 50 To My Td5 Defender 90, Have Any One Heard Good Or Bad Things About Waxoyl And Slick 50.

Waxoyled mine 2 weeks ago ready for winter so i can sleep at night knowing i wont need to do any welding. I have used Slick 50 in my cars for years and found it brill, it does what it says on the box. Did you put it in and drive or did you leave your engin running for a while.

i took out a litre of oil and put the 750ml of slick 50 in the oil filler cap and went for a drive after cleaning up my driveway my arms and my face and hair of oil, i didnt realise its all or nothing with the drainage nut, on other cars i had you undo it a bit and it trickles out, not defenders nothing until its right out then all hell breaks loose and your covered in the bloody stuff.

Thats how i usually do it but without wearing the oil but one time i added the slick 50 and just left the engine running for 30 mins. Next morning went out in it and the increase in power was realy surprising

slick 50 is a oil additive that coats the engine with ptfe (or something like that)and can not be removed unless unless you grind it off. or so i can remember reading years ago.it acts as a permanant oil coating not like oil that eventually runs off the engine components.

I once tried slick 50 in a tired old kawasaki z1000 motorbike engine. It made a noticeable difference particularly lessening the tinny rattling that jap bike engines suffer from when they're getting on a bit.

If i had never used slick50 and read that i would stay well away However my 300TDI Discovery had 80,000 miles on it when i bought it. When i sold it, it was just short of 200,000 miles on it and i never had any engine problems apart from leak in water pump caused overheating had head skimed and fitted back on. I had to replace gear box, sills, floor and many more things but nothing regarding the engine. A friend of mine now ownes it and has done for 8 months and it still runs perfect. I wish i had soaked the whole car in slick 50. This is my experience i'm sure many people will slate slick 50 but i have no complaints and i now have it in my 2004 TD5 with 43,000 miles on it. Just thought i would have my 2 bobs worth.
