slack cables

car came back today after having a replacement engine fitted. Very happy except the throttle had a lot of play in it, I tightened the cable and now it is fine however the other cable is now very slack I assume this is the kickdown cable ? but it doesn't have the ability to take the slack out of it or am I being a complete arse ?

it doesnt have a kick down cable

T'other cable is cruise isn't it?

so do I need to take the slack out of it ?

Don't suppose it would hurt.

Simple job,

Just loosen the nut on the LH side of the cable bracket, adjust nut on the opposite side until slack is out of cable & re-tighten both nuts.

That's the cruise control cable.
Does your cruise control work ok? If so I wouldn't start messing.

Adjust other end, vacuum housing, see RAVE

CABLE - CRUISE CONTROL - ADJUST - FROM

Check
1. Ensure that the throttle cable is correctly
adjusted.



2. Check for a 0.5 - 1.5mm gap between cruise
control cable cam and throttle cable driven lever.


Adjust
3. Rotate cruise control cable adjusting nut to give
a 0.5 - 1.5mm gap between the cruise control
cable cam and throttle cable driven lever.

and after driving a mile the ********** just overheated not happy at all
