How easy is it to replace the MFU? I believe I've sourced the correct one so when I get it WHAT DO I DO?

I am a very practical person, but where cars are concerned I've never really done much other than oil, water and fuel. I'm kind of the "I could if I have too but never really had the urge" type.....until now....

This Land Rover bug is weird, I feel I should do more.....

Sooo......

I'm guessing I should disconnect the battery first, loosen the fuse board under the steering column (I assume it's screwed to something?) and then i can pull off the old MFU and attached the new one. Put it all back together and hey presto!

Is it that easy? Should I scratch my head for a bit like a mechanic in the garage up the road? Am I likely to kill myself or break something and is there something I have to do after attaching it to make sure it's happy?

:confused2:

Yeah pretty much, it's just a relay controller really really, so if you've got the right one it will be a direct swap.

Well done you have passed, you didn't miss the disconnect the battery but so 10 out of 10.

You may have to unplug a lead thats pluged into the front of the fuse board to enable U to turn the board over to get access to the MFU and the lower screw was a pain.
I had to replace my MFU 13 months ago.
