Hi can anyone please provide a picture or explain how the header expansion tank is fixed for the radiator? I was checking mine and found that it was only secured by the hose pipe. I had a look around for possible fixings but couldnt see any!! The bottle has a v shaped grove down one side which looks like it should fit on to a dovetail like fitting, however there isnt one nor any evidence of one ever being fitted.

Thanks and regards.

There should be a kind of cage of metal straps attached to the radiator side panel.
Your description sounds like a screen washer bottle!

O.K found the missing bracket from web searching. The part required is (598531) which bolts on to radiator housing.

I think the "vee shaped groove" is actually a sealed passage that leads to near the bottom of the inside of the header tank. This means that as the cooling system (radiator) heats up it sends WATER into the header tank, and when it cools down again (if all goes well) because the "pick up" is the bottom of that passageway and is BELOW the surface of the header tank juice, the radiator sucks back WATER and not air. The plan is to keep the radiator FILLED right to the very top.
