  • You're never too old to learn new things, but you can be too stupid
After many years regretting selling my old SIII Landy after doing a full restoration on it, I finally reached that age where I decided I needed to get my dream car, well nearly, I recently purchased a 2008 L322 3.6.
Good to know the forum is still going

I have so far experienced all those niggly little issues they throw at you after you drive one out of the showroom and after 130k miles, mine was looking for more attention than a mistress half my age probably would be insisting on with similar expenditure to go with it. But I'm still hopeful that after giving it some love, it i'll prove to provide me with some pleasurable journeys and reliable motoring.

Guess its time to wake up now!!
Thanks for replying & for the info. It seems fitting that yours crossed the sea she patrolled. Mine's pretty trashed, we'd been thinking of 'street vanning' him as I don't enough funds to restore him to his former glory (capstan winch barn-find required!) Also if someone liked the restoration & offered big money I'd have to think with my head instead of my heart - being a sentimental old bag I just couldn't replace him with 'similar'. He's probably a bit of a metaphor for myself, bit old & unkempt to be fashionable but I'd like to be thought of as being reliable & having a bit of character & humour. I want to show that despite life's battering we're not beaten & we may even brighten the day for someone that gets to see us. If ever you see a photo of Stoppy with flames, twinkly lights (to help my son learn electronics) & steam-engine associations, you'll know GYX 875W & I survived where modern cars & celebrity were but fleeting fancies!! Happy off-roading & thank you, J
