what about on articulation? you need the exhaust able to move

I hear you there WL. I'm hoping the flexi pipe can handle it. I'm begining to think this will be more sucessfull at the end of the run than mid field.

Need to get under the old girl!, could be as small a change as connecting the last wee bit after the tail pipe rubber mount then up to the bottom of the panel behind the rear tyre.

Bear in mind, I'm trying to fit a slightly square peg in a round hole here by tryng to get away with bolt on flexi and not a new weilded on piece of pipe. Allthough as noted above, I may end up there.

Just having some fun figuring out. Good old trial and error!:D

Right, me widget is made (pic to follow) and me flexi hose has arrived. Nearly ready to give it a go.

Need your help though. I really need some sort of heat gasket between the outer ring and the body panel to reduce the heat transfer from the pipe. Been searching for hours and cant find anything (other than big commercial suppliers). A bit of heat resitant rubber I can cut to shape to fit would be ideal.

I've had a side exit on my 300tdi 90 for a couple of years now, the exhaust never gets too hot to touch where it exits the body so I wouldn't worry about heat transfer. The only reason for a finishing plate is to make the hole look neater.
