Shutting doors

Does any other Defender owner have problems with their doors not shutting properly in cold weather?

Throughout the year my doors have closed OK, with only one rear passenger door needing a bit of adjustment as it wouldn't close properly without a very firm push. However, I've noticed this Winter that a couple of the doors are really difficult when it is cold, only engaging on the first catch without the extra push from the outside, and nigh on impossible closing them from the inside.

Is this is a typical feature, and due to cold rubber or something, and is there a fix?
 
my back door has always been stiff! :eek: but the front 2 have always been ok, but while the cold is around im getting the same as you Tazz. They only catch on the first click and then a firm push or pull is required to close them completely.

Must be the cold and the rubbers or summit. Science was never my strong point.

PS im yet to figure out what is! :confused::D
 
Same here, spent a lot of money trying to get them right, but when its cold we play the slam game.

My passenger door involes a slam and a bungy chord to hold it shut...

that's in all weathers though
 
Petroleum Jelly helps stop the rubber going brittle and sticking to the door so would proberbly help in this situation
 
its the moisture content in the door seals freezing and makingf them stiff so they wont squash propperly with just the normal shut of the door and need a little encouragement

yep- a scarf around the handle and then sit on the other end- works for me when mine had the same problem :D

Yeah but no matter how hard I tried I coont sit on me neck :doh::rolleyes:
