Get one that is...
After an accident (see my posts) in which my 04 scenic was totaled, I got a "that will do for now car", a 02 scenic!! not that I love them, just my brother-in-law had one, v clean, tested, taxed and cheap.
Not going to keep it tho, just dont feel safe in it.

So... what about a Freelander?
Looking at a 04 TD4 85k 5dr at €6500.

Land Rover Freelander 2.0S 5DR 51 - €6,500 (£5,584) - Used Cars on Autotrader.ie - New & Used Cars in Ireland

Is it the money?
What "goes on them"?
What is real life mpg like?

Advice please, its that or a Zafira!!!

Dunno about yr local rates James

Enginewise the TD4 is thought the best of FL's
Watch out for the IRD and VCU, do a check and ensure it works.
Clutch slave cylinders can sometimes fail on mountings

MPG 30 - 35 average

if your after sfety in accidents go for disco or p38 rr or defender as all have very strong chassis ,freelander have no chassis but 2 tims sub frame front and rear and are worse than many cars in accidents

would love an RRC or disco, but over here the tax is €900 ish on a 2.5, even a 2.0 is €614!

After a few Renaults and a lemon of a BMW looking for reliability too, spent 1800 on the BMW engine and 2000 on the 1.5dci scenic!
