Gents,
I've got a 98 V8i D1, and the ride is quite harsh; every cat eye and road dint is felt. The suspension feels hard but I would not say seized as the front does return to its original position after being pushed, but there is no bounce. The beast is on its original shocks so I'm thinking of some after market shocks for road use. Any suggestions on suitable makes? Am I on the right track for solving this harsh ride issue? Many thanks.

Is it wallowy bouncy or just bang crash?

Have you checked the suspension bushes & especially that bloody fulcrum balljoint on the rear axles a-fraud as that can bang about o_O

And I know it's a stupid question but have you checked the tyre pressures? As this can make for a nasty ride :(

Personally I'm a great fan of the yellow Bilsteins (b6) and have them on my D1 aswell as my vw van, although I'm not off-road attacking just road car & towing

Rich.

Thanks Rich. It doesn't bounce nor a crash bang, just harsh. Maybe it's just related to sound proofing in the cab, or lack of . I've played around with the pressures and have settled on 27psi and 33psi set up, any harder than that and it feels skittish at 70mph. Its done just 100k on the road since 1998, and I'm the second owner purchasing in 2011. So far it's been great.

I'm only a road man myself and hardly ever take a passenger...(Jonny no mates). I'll look up the Bilsteins, thanks again.

Does anyone have any experience with Monroe shocks from Paddock? Thx
