hi, me again!
last week on motorway, the steering wheel nearly took my arms off, it was really hard to hold it steady, shaking very badly!
as soon as i went in slow lane and went at 50 it was fine.
what should i look for ,as something must be wrong?:D

If it's only doing it at motorway speed, may be wheel balance needed, if it's bearings you should hear a droning noise at certain speeds too. Check wheels are balanced first and go from there, only costs about £5 a wheel.

i'm amazed that people drive a vehicle knowing that's it got a potentially lethal fault - as has been said check the tyres and their pressures, check the wheel nuts are tight, check theres no play in the wheel bearings, then it's a pry bar undearneath to check UJs and bushes for play - anything that gives that produces that much shaking should be fairly easy to find

And maybe not drive it till its sorted?

Check the bushes on each end of the panhard rod,cos if they're spongey the car will rattle all the way up the motorway.I drive mine hard and change them every 60,000.Good luck J.P.

Have wheels balanced.

Our local 4x4 garage has a ramp that has moving plates the he can move by remote control that moves the front wheels foward ,back and side to side i found this found a worn track rod that could not be found by useing a bar, so if you have no joy find a garage that has thease moving plates
