Had a minor service today just engine oil and levels check all over, grease up UJ etc. Only did 2000miles since last full oil service!

The is a major gap in the service intervals(before I purchased her) , so having to retro repair as well service going forward.

The guy (independent LR guy in Kent) looked over my car and basically gave me a list of the must dos for the future. He did take all the wheels off for some reason and when he did, fitted new pads on the front (although the were not down to metal, the carbon was actually separating from the metal backing. None of the pads had anti squeal stuff on them. He stripped the rear calipers. Removed a nail from a tyre which didn't deflate!

He listed that; exhaust mounts need to be welded as wearing thin, and also that the brake pipes on each corner are badly corroded. Generally, she is not bad. A few small oil leaks, but all levels where normal, so he wasn't worried.

He thought the front wiper arms were the wrong way round? One is short and one is long? Any ideas which way they go?

Anyways, was very happy service and didn't feel ripped off. Oh yes, the brakes are better!

yeah the wiper arms were on the wrong way round on mine i suspect when a previous owner replaced the heated screen for a non heated screen then fitted the wipes wrong way round.
easy to see the shorter arm one is drivers side. the longer passenger side you can easily tell if the wiper blade drivers side is going over the top leading egde of your wind screen

it shouldnt. check all my brakes today gonna fit new pads n discs all round shortly iv got a front wheel bearing todo makes sense to do it all then

rocker cover gaskets friday to stop a pesky oil leak fitting new coil packs n leads at the same time oh will it never end lol
