Hi everyone. I'm new here - but looking forward to getting dirty hands and bruised knuckles trying to get everything on the IIa 88" running properly.
Biggest issue at the moment is no working speedometer. Thought I would start with the obvious so I disconnected the cable at the meter and drove off to to prove that the cable was not turning. At the transfer box I undid the three screws on the cable retainer plate and tried to pull out the cable inner without success. I am assuming that the cable end is chewed up in the pinion shaft so I tried to find a replacement part before I pull it all out for inspection. According to my local indie garage the part FRC1536 is obsolete. I'm hoping it can be repaired but the snow today has delayed my inspection. Any info or advice very much appreciated.
